Sandra Harris

After years of putting my art on the back burner I was forced, happily, into bringing it forward when I was forced into early retirement. With my husband’s support we packed up everything and moved to Ventura to seek out the rich artist vibe that exists here. With the help and support of amazing people I have met in the past four years, I have been able to finally show my art and gain the confidence to continue on this path.

When asked to describe my art I am pretty much at a loss for words because it keeps changing. One of my mottos is “Revel in your own weirdness”. That would pretty much describe my art. I will take apart something and make it into something else. I will paint, polish and decoupage pretty much anything that will hold still. Making a lamp from a gumball machine is a normal thing for me. I eventually landed on “Medieval to Mechanical” to describe my art - due to my love of Dragons, Fairies, Steampunk, and anything metal. I very rarely see something that could not be made better by giving it a new life as something else. I want to show people something that they might have saw in their dreams or maybe something they never in a million years would think they would ever see. That is what reveling in your own weirdness is!
